a new assignment with the Gestapo
fiction

The classic "if I knew then what I know"of all time must be a man in April of 1945 Germany looking back on the day a dozen years ago that he got the opportunity and promotion that convinced him that working for the Gestapo would be his life's work, how he wanted to spend his career, and his family's
ticket to the finer things in life.
Of course the original decision was beyond the man's control for three reasons.
1. Normal people are hard wired for success. Some activity must be found early in life to insure he and his have food, water and shelter. It's an evolutionary requirement going back a billion years to one celled animals.
2. Tempus fugit. Things develop a little at a time. Ethical problems are usually ignored in life by normal people, it's hard wired into our genes.
3. Itwasgoodwhileitlasted.[1]
[1] I wanted to show by running the words together how Mark Twain the author whosepictureIkeep

used to write when he was on a roll. In fact that bunching of all the words together as we write is how I think as well.
