President Obama's war against coal/ part 2

President Obama's war against coal/ part 2

fiction
Edward w Pritchard

The jury is out but did minor writer ed pritchard successfully call a bottom in coal stocks a few days ago? Unlikely but since Pritchard wrote coal stocks anr and wlt are up two days in a row and that is unusual.

Meanwhile, Pritchard reminds his few readers he does not give stock advice as his only technical knowledge about coal was learned from throwing chunks of coal at other young boys as a six year old on slag heap behind a coal mine near Morgantown West Virginia.

Modern children, ancient problem

Modern children, ancient problem

fiction
edward w pritchard

Issue:

The Greek city states in the classical period emphasized that individual interests were subordinate to the State and the common good. The individual was expected to stay busy with collective activity.

In India in ancient times many people withdrew into their minds away from the world and society with religious contemplation.

America now. Who watches the children while both parents work long hours pursuing materialistic achievement, personal actualization, and the approval of contemporary society.

Modern children, ancient problem. How has feminism and a global economy altered traditional roles for contemporary American Parents?

Day to day many challenges are forgotten to History, ignored as too mundane to be remembered.

President Obama and war against coal

President Obama and war against coal

fiction
Edward w Pritchard

As Julius Caesar humbled Gaulic chieftain Vercingetorix  so President Obama brings the American Coal industry to it's knees.

Coal stock prices have fallen more than 20% in a few days off already historic lows. Deflation or the environmental lobby lead by President Obama looking to destroy a source of pollution and global warming?

Does America need vibrant coal companies in case of a real War if we must fight a determined and fortified opponent?

Cell phones and Alibaba's do not run on coal. Is there a connection between weak American coal stocks and sky rocketing stock prices for Chinese online retailers? Perhaps in time Alibaba can use it's gigantic cash stash to buy America's coal reserves. As far as I know it still gets cold in China sometimes and the Chinese still use some coal to generate electricity. Or are hard commodities now obsolete in the era of super duper wrist watches from Apple and American investors pushing and fighting to own restrictive ADR's on Chinese on line retailers whose boards and directors are answerable to the communist party.

As the philosopher said, reason is dead and flux is the new King.

Me, I watch the junk bonds of the leading coal companies fall day after day and dream of a mega turn around the equities of ANR or WLT.

forgotten cowboy; hope or despair?

forgotten cowboy; hope or despair?

fiction
Edward w Pritchard

The past haunts us even in our sleep. Chased by dreams and haunted by vanished spirits of withdrawn companions.

Horses gone, fences in disrepair; what is there to get a forgotten cowboy up in the morning before 7AM?

Children are comforting but soon inherit adult size problems, despite huge potential the conspiracy of all against the individual weighs them down to. Too bad, children have been the future since Old testament times. We miss the patter of small feet.

The World spins while liturgical differences slaughters the weak and innocent. Pray for the  innocents of far away lands and don't send our technological weapons to interfere in their lives.

Beer prices rise but the good news, no one has any savings to be hurt by deflationary interests rates. Still the fallen lady fame and fortune winks and struts for the next generation as they save and sacrifice.

Post modernism has defamed Plato and Descartes. Kafka and Sartre rules our thoughts from the grave. Meanwhile the young are happy if they can get a new phone plan and phone apparatus every few of Apple's or Verizon's reporting periods. We hope they have significant things to say on their updated phones.

Walk on forgotten cowboy. Toward the West land of opportunity. Greet the sunrise with hope and enthusiasm. A better day comes tomorrow. Be fit, ready and alert. The secret is about to revealed

Missing daughter, a lamentation

Edward w Pritchard

Gone is a desolate far away place.
Little hands, small face where are you now?
Before vanished, after no more.
You no longer familiar, stable ubiquitous.
Where rests your quiet soul our sweet little face from before?
Now is gone, a desolate far away place.
Small hands retrieve me home.
