It appeared that judge Kate Johnson was about to get arrested at the Wal Mart in Carlyle Ohio.

Kate loved coming to the Wal Mart. She liked walking in and having the greeter smile at her, and she liked waiting on line and wondering what every body was going to do with all the stuff they bought. Every time she came she bought her Husband Ivor a different kind of expensive cheese or some kind of imported beer. She always got both of her kids, Rex and Jessie a new toy or game. Everyone told her now that she looked like she got her clothes at Wal Mart and she did. She liked to buy a pair of gloves, or a scarf from India, or just a piece of jewelry.

Today she was sitting in the restaurant at the Wal Mart having some french fries. Two older teenage boys who she didn't recognize were joking about old Judge Evans.

Mr. Evans about a week ago had been walking on route 30, and when the police picked him up was carrying an ax handle like a rifle and was confused about time and place and said he was walking to Fort Dix, New Jersey.

The one teenage boy sitting about 10 feet from Judge Johnson had said "its lucky that old coot didn't have a real axe".

Kate had thrown about half of her french fries at the young man. There was no ketchup involved.

The security guy at the Wal Mart drove down all the way from Akron, Ohio to work part-time here and didn't know Judge Johnson and had called the Highway patrol.

When the officer on duty walked in it was Officer Robby Fouts. Kate had once threatened Robbie with a baseball bat when he was 11 years old for laughing at Kassie Evans who had been hit in the ankle by a bat thrown by Gary Rickles after it slid up third base line, bounced off the backstop and struck her. Later when Robbie was 16, new prosecutor Kate Owens[ maiden name] had made Robbie Fouts pick up litter and papers on highway 11 after him and Tom Bradley had been caught by Mrs. Simmons feeling up, Mrs. Simmons 15 year old daughter Sheri.

Officer Fouts had heard the trouble was with Judge Johnson before he walked into the Wal Mart. Kate was five years older than him and he had always been a little afraid of her. She was sitting in the restaurant when he walked in.

He asked her "what happened"

"they were trashing Judge Evans"---
Back when Officer Robbie Fouts was 16 and in trouble over Sheri Simmons -- Judge Evans had talked to Mrs. Simmons personally for over an hour to get her to drop the charges against Robbie and Tom Bradley after prosecutor Kate Johnson was unable to do so.

"Judge Kate Johnson you are a bully" said Officer Fouts

"Robbie Fouts", looking at him in his uniform" you are about the handsomest looking boy ever to come out of these hills, said Judge Johnson.

"Get out Judge Johnson" said Officer Fouts

" We are all just a bunch of hillbillies and rednecks " said Judge Johnson.

As she left the Wal Mart, Judge Kate Johnson smiled at the greeter and realized that she had gotten old enough not to care what happened to herself anymore.
