mostly silent

mostly silent

fiction

Keep an East facing window open to hear the early morning echo of the ancient ones. The series
of the Portage Lakes where I stay are a sacred place where the native Americans once did abide from time to time and on windy quiet mornings you can hear advice from those long gone if keep your mind free of the frets of the day.

Those spirits are shy and do not enter houses. The sound of cars and trucks racing to work drives them away.

Hear the birds, hear the ducks, hear the wind. When no one sees or will hear you the ancient ones are about. Five times five a bird repeats to me drawing thoughts from my subconscious.

Blow wind blow. The universe enters mostly silent through an East facing window.
