Missing one nickel,
missing one stoic Indian,
missing one contented buffalo,
missing sixty wasted years.
Where are the buffalo nickels,
where are the contented Indians,
where is the wasted years that I spent grieving over
lost herds of buffalo that didn't run when we shot them down.
Where are you familiar nickel lost but not forgotten.
