More than once author here has been accused of setting up straw men to knock them down. Indignantly proceeding to wage an attack against imaginary behaviors exhibited by ancient
villains who no longer exist. Such as the brutality of the soldiers of Timer or injustices of the Assyrians in their conquests of the Israelites.
Who hasn't dozed off while reading the old testament condemnations of their enemies by the biblical prophets? You can be sure that half of their indignation was against imaginary straw men to round off a good story with an imaginary villain.
it's such a drag to read
